The drill software on the 2 X CD ROM is set to time out shortly after your 4 week course is completed.
The multimedia course has been designed to provide just the essential information required to pass the Standard Licence Theory and Regulations exams. This course allows you to rehearse you exam questions and answers. This is not strictly a teaching course though much teaching is done. For this reason you have agreed to complete the course in about 4 weeks and then sit your Standard Licence Theory Exam.
You will pass the exam provided you follow this formula. Book your theory and regulations exam now for 4-5 weeks time. Extending the course beyond this time is not effective.
Do at least 1 hour a day on the theory using the tutorials and drills alternating between the two as you feel comfortable. As you go through the tutorials mark the correct answers on your printed file of the questions. The video tutorials can be paused and restarted - the can be fast forwarded. They cannot be rewound you must start at the beginning if you miss something an want to go over it.
The multimedia course is not done over the Internet - it is a computer based self administered course. There is very little to read or write. You simple sit in front of your computer a little each day and listen and watch the tutorials and test yourself using the exam drills.

The multimedia course is suitable for all ages (typically 12 and up). The great plus of the multimedia course is that it leads you to an Standard amateur operators licence in record time with the least amount of work. However you still must be committed to doing some work in front of your computer on a regular basis.
If you do the course in the presence of others consider using headphones.
In addition to the theory you can do your regulations in the same four week period, the regulations is contained on the second CD of the set. Time required for regulations is about 6 hours.
You will also need to complete a practical assessment. This is a very easy formality designed to show that you know your way around an amateur radio station and that you can identify the basic components which make up the station. You can download the guide to the practical assessment here.
Keep in mind whilst doing this course that you are doing in a very short time what many take 6 to 12 months to achieve (and then often a number of exam attempts). When you pass your exam you might want to consider the advanced theory course with the School.
The course and it contents - including the all questions set has been provided to you with the agreement that it is for your use only and must not be distributed without permission.
If you run education classes for amateur radio the multimedia course can be presented to a class of students 1 day per week several weeks with the examination on the last week. It is quite easy to arrange for a PC projection system though this is not essential. If your club wishes to do this, please contact the school for details. Permission will be given to copy the CD ROMs for this purpose and you can charge an amount to cover your course administration costs.
The cost of the multimedia course is $25 (cheques are not
accepted) and credit cards can be processed through PayPal.
To start this course just click on enrolments on the navigation bar and
complete your details. Once your registration as a student is accepted,
the course will be dispatched to you. This whole process can take as little
as 24 hours. |

Well when you have obtained your Standard licence, and when your ready, why not start the comprehensive online Advanced course (03RESADV). This leads to the Advanced Amateur Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency AOCP(A) licence. We recommend that all new students do the standard multimedia course first because it provides a taste of what can be expected without a large commitment, includes the regulations section, and it leads to an amateur radio licence, and certificate qualification "FAST".
